| Major Fire and Water Damage Restoration Project | This series of pictures were taken during a major fire & water damage restoration project. The home had extensive damage to the sides, back and roof. The fire had burnt a large hole approximately 20` by 20` in the back right section of the roof. Added to the fire and smoke damage, the home had been left empty and the hole uncovered for a period of more than 7 years. This led to extensive water & frost damage to the structural support beams of the roof and both floor`s truss system. The water over time had destroyed part of the foundational supports both by decay and sinking. All the interior doors, floors and drywall was destroyed under the area of the hole and adjoining rooms. To restore this home, the following steps were taken:- Removed all damaged materials
- Installed 17 new engineered roof trusses
- Re-decked and shingled the entire roof
- Reframed the entire back wall of the house (2 stories)
- New vinyl siding was added to both sides and the back of the home to match the existing siding in the front
- The house was jacked up in order to replace the damaged foundational support beams and an additional doubled center beam was run under the length of the house
- Over half of the floor joist were replace on both floors with 2” / 10” pressure treated lumber to add improved support and water resistance
- Over half of the sub-flooring was replaced with pressure treated 3/4” plywood for added support and to improve on the home`s original structural design
- All doors were replace and the drywall, trim and flooring were replaced as needed
- All new electrical wiring was installed and the service was upgraded to a 200 amp service circuit box
- New central heat and air was installed with separate thermostats for first and second floors - this also was an additional upgrade over the original design
- New kitchen cabinets were installed
- New vinyl, carpet and bamboo hardwood flooring were install throughout the home
