In this kitchen remodeling project, the customer had beautiful solid oak cabinets that had built up a thick layer of sludge, scratches, gouges and numerous stains. The Solid brass hardware was unrecognizable as such and heavily tarnished. Rather than replace the cabinets and hardware, we opted to restore them. We began by removing the doors and drawers and started the preliminary sanding process (seen in pics 1 & 2). After sanding many of the bad spots down to bare wood and removing stains from other areas, we began the restaining process. We also were able to save the original hardware, restoring the pieces to near mint condition! We did not want mint condition as the unique character of the pieces was an excellent touch!

We installed these pre-manufactured cabinets which were bought at a local building supply store into a rental property for this satisfied customer. Both the cabinets and counter tops were stock items that were installed right out of the boxes. We did have to cut the lenght of the countertops, add end caps, cut the sink hole and install the sink and plumbing.

While remodeling this room, we needed to accent the new window we made & installed. To accomodate this need, we suggested a recessed, in-the-wall, cabinet. When we cut into the wall (plaster), we noticed an electrical wire that we had to relocate. You never know what you will find in a wall! :-)

While we built this cabinet with shelves per the customer`s request, we could have created it without shelves to hold a figurine if desired.
