SmartTrack, is a standard frequency/loyalty software product. It is a
Mag-stripe or smart card based Point of Sale (POS) application. SmartTrack is a quality, cost effective solution for issuing frequency/loyalty, market tracking and electronic gift certificate cards. SmartTrack is a scalable, configurable, rules driven program and is designed for merchants that wish to run the program themselves.
SmartTrack utilizes magnetic stripe, contact and contactless smart cards. The loyalty transactions track the card holder’s purchase history by assigning frequency points for the dollars spent. The Gift Certificate application tracks stored value balance for the card. The POS terminal allows the system to collect data effectively and efficiently from the card. A PC based VBHost Communication program collects the data from the terminals. A Microsoft ACCESS database and reporting piece rounds out the system, allowing the merchant to check the database for point totals and maintain customer’s demographic information.
The SmartTrack system provides marketing information that can be used to identify the best customers, the customers that drive the majority of sales. The information can be used to create incentives to keep the customer coming back. The information can be used to modify buying habits by attracting the customer to other areas of business. Smart cards allow differentiation of products and can help create or enhance a corporate image.
The SmartTrack frequency/loyalty package is scaleable, flexible and configurable. It can be configured with different prompts during different seasons or promotions. SmartTrack offers an EMAIL upgrade capability. During the night the POS terminal calls the host to deliver the transactions. The host can deliver application upgrades, system configuration changes and printed EMAIL messages.
SmartTrack can provide additional functionality such as stored-value for vending or concession sales, VISA/ MasterCard credit and debit transactions, as well as check authorization transactions.
A license to use the SCS VBHost software and the ACCESS database is offered along with the system, providing the host data collection facility. Based in Windows (98 or 2000) or NT environments, the PC based host program accepts transactions from the POS terminals. Typically the terminals wake-up and dial the host at night, un-attended. In addition to remote dial in and dial out, the host can support local RS232 connections. The Microsoft ACCESS database provides reporting capability and flexibility for changing or adding additional reports.
